The following ground rules apply to the Lilac Festival Site within Highland Park.

  • New Bag Policy: All bags must adhere to our new bag policy and will be strictly enforced. 
    • Clear bags (dimensions must be 16″x16″x8″ or smaller) will be allowed.
    • Small purses or clutches (dimensions must be 4.5″x6.5″ or smaller) are allowed.
    • Medical and diaper bags (must be accompanied by a child) are allowed and will be subject to search.
  • No pets allowed. Please leave your pet at home. Pets will be turned away.
  • Bicycles, skateboards and in-line skates are not allowed.
  • Patrons can bring a small chair, umbrellas, or blankets.
  • With the exception of one sealed bottle of water, visitors may not bring food or beverages into the festival grounds.
  • Bandanas are not allowed.
  • To enhance your festival-going experience, the Rochester Lilac Festival has implemented a parental escort program, the details of which are as follows:
    • Through the hours of the Festival (10:30 am – 8:30 pm) each day:
      • Persons the age of seventeen and under are not permitted unless escorted by a parent, legal guardian.
      • All underage persons must always remain within the company of their guardian and will be escorted out if they do not.
      • Each escort may supervise up to two youths.
      • All persons appearing to be less than 18 years of age must be prepared to show valid identification which includes a photograph and date of birth.
      • Valid forms of identification include: Driver’s license, non-driver ID card, college ID, Passport, Visa.
      • This policy will be strictly adhered to by the on-site security team.
      • No weapons of any kind or objects that appear or could be used as a weapon are allowed.
      • No drugs of any kind unless medically-issued in it’s original container.

Please be aware of the changes to traffic patterns due to the Highland Park Traffic Control Plan. Follow the directions below to get to the festival effectively.


Monday – Friday
$7 from 10am – 2:30pm
$10 after 2:30pm

Saturday – Sunday
$10 during all hours


Lot 1: Main Lot (best for main festival site)
Diagonally across the street from 1111 Elmwood Ave. Elmwood Avenue is south of the Lilac Festival site. Enter from direction of Elmwood Ave./Goodman St.

Lot 2: Goodman Street Lot (best for Pansy Bed & lilacs)
Located at 1065 Elmwood Avenue-along Goodman St. Enter from Elmwood Avenue or Goodman St.
